With a rain sheet, your horse will be protected in bad weather from heavy rain and wind.
Rain sheets are available with or without a lining. If you only want protection from the rain, choose an unlined version (0 grams fill). If you want the rug to offer protection from the cold, or if you want to use your rug as a blanket, choose one with 100-200 gram filling. Alternatively, you can combine the rain sheet with one of our under blankets, allowing you to use it all year round.
The blankets are made in different fabric thicknesses. If nylon is incorporated into the blanket, this fabric thickness is indicated in the number of denier. The higher this number, the thicker and stronger the blanket.
How do you choose the best rain sheet for your horse?
It is important to pay close attention to the fit of the rain blanket in order to protect your horse from chaffing, among others. In our measurement table, you can see exactly how to determine the right size. The blanket sizes on our website are of the shorter lengths, measured from the middle of the chest to the back of the buttock where you want the blanket to end. If you want to safely protect your horse from cold and wetness, choose a model with a fixed or detachable collar. This prevents water from getting in under the blanket at the neck opening.
Indeed a rain blanket is 100% waterproof, yet light and breathable so your horse always feels comfortable. Almost all rain blankets feature cross girths, leg straps and a double breast strap and tail flap.
