Protect your horse’s tendons

To protect the front legs of your horse, use a tendon boot. Your horse can tap his front legs with his hind hoofs, which may cause injury to the tendons. Especially if your horse is wearing horseshoes, and the odds are that he is, tendon protection is not an unnecessary luxury. Injury to the tendons, unfortunately, results in a difficult and prolonged healing process. It is thus good to use tendon boots to prevent such injuries.

Many types of tendon boots

There are many types of tendon boots, and at MHS we offer a wide choice. They often have a hard exterior for protection. The inside is softly lined, with leather, fur or fleece. These breathable liners ensure that the heat is easily dissipated while riding. Neoprene lining is also often used. It is a soft, flexible material that is comfortable for your horse.
Most tendon boots are secured with a handy Velcro strip which makes them adjustable. Do not make the protectors too tight as this limits the freedom of movement of your horse. It is also important to choose a protector that fits your horse well in terms of size. With our measurement table, you can check which model and size will suit your horse perfectly.

Bandages

Bandages are used for example, while riding and, as with the tendon protectors, provide protection. It's important that you know how to apply a bandage, as too tight or too loose can cause problems.
